Due to the need for health precautions and based on the guidelines and restrictions issued by the state of Virginia involving COVID-19, all classes and events scheduled through June 10, 2020 have been postponed or cancelled at Clifton Forge School of the Arts.
We will continue to monitor the developing circumstances and make future decisions based on the latest information. Students already registered for a cancelled class can hold their payment as credit for a future session of the same class or receive a full tuition refund. Mondays and Thursdays, 6:15 - 8:15 p.m.
TUITION: $165 plus clay ($25/25 lb. bag)
Functional is the goal of this pottery class. Beginner students will be introduced to bowls and cups. Experienced students will be asked to push their skills to include pitchers, large bowls, and tea pots. Keeping the class to no more than four students allows more one-on-one with personalized instruction.

INSTRUCTOR: CYNDY LITTLETON
3 Saturdays
10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
TUITION: $100, plus the cost of clay used ($25/ 25 lb block)
The first Saturday will be spent handbuilding pottery pieces. The second Saturday is dedicated to glazing. The final Saturday will be communal firing of the pots. Participants are asked to bring their lunch.

This six-session class offers hand-building technique demonstrations include slab construction, coil building, and pinching. Applied textures, underglaze, glaze application, and surface decoration techniques are also demonstrated. Explore these various hand building and surface techniques to create your own unique functional or abstract work. This class will meet for five consecutive weeks and will then have a three-week break while the clay projects dry fully so they are ready for glazing in the final week.
