Collect your friends, family or work buddies and plan a two-hour party of art instruction and fun with Judith Sivonda, who brought Paint’n’ Pours to the Alleghany Highlands years ago. Judith will draw from her background in art history and instruction as a certified educator, guiding you to understand key elements in a painting by a famous artist. You will be the artist, mixing colors under her instruction and painting your own version of the original to take home and proudly hang on your wall. Days or evenings available and you may bring a beverage of your choice. A quality art experience for families or groups of friends! Class size: Minimum 4, maximum 10.

*C-120: COPPER REPOUSSE (age 12 to adult)
INSTRUCTOR: JUDITH SIVONDA
The working of designs into copper by pushing with hand tools is learned in this two-day workshop. Participants learn to plan and create a low-relief metal wall tile. The first day is devoted to design and chasing. The second day is for finishing and framing. Some design ideas will also be provided if your personal muse is not with you.

C-121: COPPER II

Repousse or relief metal-working dates back in history to time of the pharaohs of Egypt and is found in many cultures, from jewelry to masks to serving dishes. In this three-week class, participants learn to plan and create a low-relief copper tile or medallion. Using hammer and tools, and patiently working copper sheet stretches the metal will give dimension to your design. You can bring your own design, but some design ideas will also be provided if your personal muse is not with you.

Q-102: TRADITIONAL STONE CARVING WORKSHOP
INSTRUCTOR: JUDITH SIVONDA
In this five-week course, students will learn the traditional way to carve stone. First, they sketch their ideas on paper and then create in re-workable clay maquette, and finally carve the alabaster or soapstone chosen. Safety equipment is supplied for your use and safe technique is emphasized. The tools used are small hammers and chisels, files, rasps, rifflers, and sandpapers. Please bring your own leather gloves that fit well. Judith recommends keeping it simple and she will, as always, guide students to success.

B-201: LINOCUT BLOCK PRINTING
INSTRUCTOR: JUDITH SIVONDA
In this five-week course you will design, reverse, and transfer your design, learn to cut linoblock safely, and print your block on quality paper. You might also tint your prints, double print, even create a two-color block. For teens to adult.
