​Serving the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia and beyond, Clifton Forge School of the Arts offers opportunities for learning and training in the fine and applied arts to people of all ages and abilities. Located in the heart of historic downtown Clifton Forge, the School of the Arts encourages creativity and promotes economic development through a two-fold program that is both recreational and vocational, providing cultural enrichment in our region and beyond.​

1-day class, Saturday, September 3, 10:00 am-noon

 

Students will learn the art of collage and design principles with a strong emphasis on shape, color and composition. Students will walk away with a small collage created during the class.

1-day class, Saturday, September 3, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm

 

Students will learn the art of collage and design principles with a strong emphasis on shape, color and composition. Students will learn art history of collage-based artists and how collage can inspire future art. Students will walk away with a small collage created during the class which will inspire new and expanding works.

REGISTRATION POLICY
Tuition must be paid in full a minimum of 3 business days prior to the scheduled start of the class. 
Please note: some classes require registration further ahead, as indicated in class description.

Materials Fees should be paid to the instructor or to the School, by check or cash, at the 1st class session.

Make sure you register early- all classes have limited spaces available. Classes and workshops are subject to minimum enrollment standards.  If the minimum is not met, your class/workshop may be canceled or rescheduled.  If this happens, we will contact you by email and/or phone and work with you to either reschedule the class or fully refund class fees.

GIFT CERTIFICATES
 
Remember that you can give the gift of art to someone special with a gift certificate for a class! Available throughout the year.

CHARGES AND PAYMENTS 
Cash and personal checks are the preferred method of payment; major credit cards and PayPal are also accepted for tuition to classes and workshops.


REFUNDS:  Consistent with other educational institutions, CFSOTA does not prorate or refund tuition for missed classes.  Full tuition must be paid regardless of the number of classes attended. If you need to cancel your registration, contact the School at least three business days ahead of class start.

DISCLAIMER:  Occasionally it is necessary to make changes or corrections to the schedule after its publication.  The School of the Arts reserves the right to make such changes as needed and will make every effort to inform students and publish such changes on our website.

Clifton Forge School of the Arts

We offer a wide variety for all ages and interests. Classes may be single or multi-sessions, while workshops may be a day, or part of several days.

The School has well-developed studios for Blacksmithing, Glass, Painting, Pottery, Sculpture, Woodworking, and several sunlit classrooms. We love creating art experiences tailored to the individual needs of organizations, families, homeschoolers, and tourists based on your interests. 

Some of our customized courses have included:
drawing course modeled after Lewis and Clark's documentation of the natural world for a Scout troop; summer Scout badge projects; public school art education hours; family art classes for Douthat State Park vacationers; and Paint 'n' Pour classes for work, friends, and special interest groups.
