G-203: COZY QUILTS IN FUSED GLASS
INSTRUCTOR: GEORGE AYARS
Tuesday, January 29, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
TUITION: $60 (plus a $20 materials fee due to the instructor in class)
Homey, classic quilt designs - who doesn’t love’em? Inviting, comforting - antique in essence, but somehow timeless and modern. No previous glass experience required. Students will learn basic glass cutting, with added tips for speed cutting strips, squares, triangles and diamond shapes so popular in traditional quilt designs. Make one of several classic patterns, such as Basket of Scraps, Oh Susannah, Eight Point Star, etc.
Students assemble an 8” square panel which is then fused to over 1200 degrees, melting the glass into a finished suncatcher, ready to hand in your window. Finished projects can be picked up at the School office after firing is completed, or mailed for a small additional fee. Class includes a short break (bring a bag lunch).
