The course will highlight two radically different lighting techniques and expand the students understanding of lighting well beyond the norm.
At the end of this course students should be familiar with:
• The uses of studio flash and portable flash units as a primary light source or as a supplement to natural light.
• The relationship between shutter speed and flash lighting • How to control lighting ratios using flash
• How to control flash exposure and coverage using light modifiers • How to make an exposure using alternative light sources • How to use alternative light sources to supplement available light or as a primary light source • The relationship between the shutter speed, ISO, and the light source in making an exposure.
