Barn Quilts are a beautiful way to accessorize either the interior or exterior of your home. In this two-weekend class, artist Andrea Curry will show you how to make a 24” square barn quilt with colors that complement your décor. Graduates of Andrea’s Beginner class may register for the Advanced class, where they will take their skills and techniques to the next level. If Advanced students wish to make a 12” or 48” Barn quilt, they must contact the school at least a week prior to class start to arrange for that size board. 48” board cost is 4x that of the 24” and there will be additional charge for the class. Students for both the Beginner and Advanced classes must bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for painting, a hair dryer, and up to six colors of interior/exterior latex paint (BEHR sample sizes of interior/exterior Premium Plus Ultra or Marquee from Home Depot are required; do not get Valspar!) Please contact the School of the Arts if you have any question about your paint needs or these classes. The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce hopes to establish a Barn Quilt Trail in our region and we look forward to helping you become part of it!
