T-105 INTERMEDIATE POTTERY: PITCHERS, VASES, AND WOOD-FIRING
Students of clay will be using the potter’s wheel to construct larger vessels such as pitchers, vases, and tureens. Focus will be placed on developing galleries, lids, spouts, and handles. Students will also be introduced to applying glaze using the spray method and using shinos for reduction firing. On October 18, students will assist in loading their pots into a wood-fired kiln. The class will culminate with a group wood firing on October 27-28.
Mondays and Thursdays, 6:15 – 8:15 pm
Sept. 24 through Oct. 18, plus Oct. 27 - 28.
TUITION: $160, plus $25 per 25-pound block of clay
