There is nothing quite like using something every day that you made with your own hands or giving a handmade gift to a loved one. The goal of this pottery class is to learn the basics of functional pottery and have several pieces to show for it by the time the course has concluded.
Over six 3-hour sessions, students will focus on learning to use the wheel to make basic pottery shapes such as small cups, bowls and mugs. They will also experiment with slab building and using molds to make larger pieces. Participants will learn studio etiquette, basic tools of the potter, and techniques in glazing. Everything we make will be food, oven, microwave and dishwasher safe!
